Today’s Goal of the Day is one of the finest Manchester City produced throughout last season.

It was their second in the 4-0 win away at Bournemouth, finished off by Kevin De Bruyne on the volley 12 minutes into his return from a two-month injury layoff after a beautifully worked move involving David Silva and Sergio Aguero.

With City already a goal up, Silva dispossessed Charlie Daniels and played the ball into Aguero, who immediately produced a scooped pass back into the Spaniard’s path.

Silva then conjured a first-time flick into the onrushing De Bruyne, who volleyed home first time. The placement was perfect and City were in control of the game.

City were three up inside 20 minutes when Aguero finished expertly, and Aleksandar Kolarov added further gloss in the last minute with a ferocious shot that flew past Artur Boruc.

But it was De Bruyne’s goal that stole the show.

The 4-0 win consolidated City’s place inside the top four, where they finished the campaign.
