The countdown to UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 is on and Manchester City’s Academy Stadium will play a part in a record-breaking tournament.

EURO 2022 takes place between 6 – 31 July 2022 and the home of City’s women’s first team will play host to three Group D games, as England’s Lionesses compete on home soil as tournament hosts for the first time since 2005.

With more than 700,000 tickets available, the competition is set to mark the biggest women’s European sport event in history.

With an unprecedented number of fans able to experience the tournament, hopes are to break attendance records throughout and spark sustainable positive change in women’s and girls’ football.

The Academy Stadium will look to beat its previous record crowd of 5,665 for a women’s game – recorded in April 2015 when England played China in a friendly.
