Cityzens Giving empowers fans to decide how the Club fund youth-led community football projects around the world and has inspired the Nairobi branch to use the power of football to positively impact young people.

Established in November 2019, Nairobi currently has 29 members who, alongside their passion for City, share a commitment to charity work.
Around the time of their formation, they held a football tournament for local youngsters, where it became apparent a children’s home was struggling to provide for those in its care.
The Nairobi branch vowed to lend their support and, whilst the COVID-19 pandemic delayed their progress, in December of last year they were able to fulfil their promise.
Having worked tirelessly in order to raise money and collect donations, the members raised just under £500 GBP, which was used to buy three months’ worth of food for the home, whilst they also provided clothes, shoes, stationery and toys to bring entertainment and enjoyment to the children.
“Our hearts were warmed to see the smiles on the children’s faces, having fulfilled a promise we had made a year ago,” said Dan Nzuki, a member of the Nairobi branch.
“In the future, we intend to continue undertaking such projects in a bid to empower the children and youth in our society and to help the needy to the best of our ability.
“We are proud to be part of the Manchester City community and its projects motivate us to bring change to our community here in Nairobi.”
