In December, City in the Community launched their 2018 Christmas campaign with the aim of reaching more young people across the city than ever before.

One important part of this was to support youngsters for whom Christmas can be a difficult time of year.

Participants of the CITC Kicks sessions on a Saturday night at the Wythenshawe Forum jumped at the chance to help us on our journey and offered to raise funds or donate a present to help spread some festive cheer.

These participants took part in 20 hours of voluntary activity at various sessions in Wythenshawe to keep themselves active, healthy and happy over the Christmas break.

Every penny raised was spent on buying gifts, and any presents donated were delivered to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital on 10 December 2018.

With the help of our participants and the wider CITC family we made 2018 the biggest year yet!

The relationship between the Forum Trust, the Wythenshawe Community Housing Group and Young Manchester allowed CITC to engage and include 241 individual young people in this social impact project.

This session is now into its seventh year and in 2017/18 engaged 6,194 participants.

From all at City in the Community we would like to say thank you for the time and effort of these young people to help others less fortunate.
