Manchester City have six players in contention for the 2021 Ballon d’Or awards, which are set to return after a two-year hiatus.

After last season’s ceremony was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the prestigious annual event is back in the football calendar and the winners of the men’s and women’s prizes will be revealed later this month.

City have five representatives in the men’s category, whilst one player has been shortlisted for the women’s trophy.

When is the 2021 Ballon d’Or awarded?

The presentation is taking place in Paris on Monday 29 November.

Which City players have been nominated for the men’s award?

Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling have all been named on the 30-man shortlist and our five nominations means we are level with Chelsea as the best represented club.

Which other awards will be revealed at the Ballon d’Or ceremony?

The Yashin Trophy, which honours the best goalkeeper of the last 12-months, will also be handed out on the night.

Ederson has been included on the 10-men shortlist for the prize which is named in honour of the legendary Russian goalkeeper, Lev Yashin.

The winner will be selected by former Ballon d’Or winners.
