Ederson has been shortlisted for the Goalkeeper of the Season prize, Ruben Dias is among the nominees for Defender of the Season, whilst Kevin De Bruyne is again in contention to win the midfielder’s award, which he won in 2019-20.
A three-man shortlist has been selected for each position, with all three dominated by last season’s finalists, City and Chelsea.
Ederson is up against Edouard Mendy and Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois, whilst Dias faces competition from Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger and De Bruyne has been nominated alongside Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.
The City trio were influential as Pep Guardiola’s side won 11 of 12 games en route to the first Champions League final in the Club’s history.
Ederson and Dias were pillars of a rock-solid defence, which kept eight clean sheets and conceded just five goals in the competition and De Bruyne was again magnificent, scoring three goals, including a crucial equaliser in our 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of our semi-final.
The winners will be announced when the 2021-22 Champions League group stage draw takes place on Thursday 26 August in Istanbul, Turkey.
Everyone at Manchester City wishes Ederson, Ruben and Kevin the best of luck in the final vote.
