Commanding Goalkeeper
James signed from Carlisle United as an Under-12 and has progressed through to the EDS squad after signing his first professional contract in July 2020.
A vocal figure in goal, James has also featured regularly for England teams through the age groups and now features in U21 squads.
He joined Accrington Stanley on loan ahead of the 2021-22 season and made 11 appearances for the League One outfit before moving to Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the campaign in January 2022.
He played 22 times as they achieved a ninth place finish before earning a call up to the England U21 squad for their European Championship qualifiers. He will return to the Wanderers on loan for the 2022/23 season.
